Help Me Build Re/membrance, My Dream 2D game!

I've been dreaming about making this game for years. Now I'm finally trying to make it real.

My name is Akhyiar, and I'm an independent young game developer working on Re/membrance, a 2D action-adventure game that I've been developing as a personal project.

Re/membrance is still extremely early in development. In fact, the game is probably around 2% complete right now.

I know that doesn't sound like much, and I don't want to pretend otherwise. There is still a huge amount of work ahead of me. But I've already started building the foundation of the game, including its characters, environments, animations, gameplay systems and world.

The biggest problem I'm facing is hardware.

I'm currently developing the game on a laptop that isn't powerful enough for the scope I have planned. As the project becomes larger, working with bigger environments, animations, effects and development tools becomes increasingly difficult. Things that should take minutes can take much longer, and some parts of development simply aren't practical on my current setup.

I could give up on the project.

Instead, I want to see how far I can take it.

What is Re/membrance?

Re/membrance is a 2D game focused on exploration, combat, atmosphere and storytelling. I want to create a world that feels mysterious and alive, with environments worth exploring, challenging enemies, memorable characters and a story that gradually reveals itself rather than simply being handed to the player.

The game is inspired by the atmosphere and gameplay of the 2D games I've enjoyed, but I want Re/membrance to eventually develop its own identity, world and visual style.

Where will the money go?

The primary goal of this campaign is to improve the resources available for development.

Funds will help with:

  • Upgrading my development hardware
  • Art and animation
  • Music and sound design
  • Software and development tools
  • Game assets and other development expenses
  • Potentially working with other people on parts of the project in the future

My biggest priority is getting hardware capable of properly handling the project. The less time I spend fighting my computer, the more time I can spend actually making the game.

I'm not asking you to fund a finished game

I want to be completely transparent about the current state of Re/membrance.

This is an early-stage project.

There is no finished game sitting behind this campaign. I'm asking for support to help me build it.

There will be changes during development. There will be bugs, things that don't work, ideas that get scrapped and probably a ridiculous number of late nights wondering why something broke after I changed one line of code.

But I genuinely want to see this project through.

If you decide to contribute, you'll be helping me move this project forward from its earliest stages. Even a small contribution can help me get closer to having the hardware and resources I need.

And if you can't donate, that's completely okay.

Sharing this campaign, following the game's development, or simply showing the project to someone who might be interested can help enormously.

I'm starting with roughly 2% of the game completed.

I want to see what we can do with the other 98%.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for giving my project a chance.

Re/membrance is only at the beginning.
