I’m 21 years old, from a middle-class family in Pakistan, and I earn less than $150 a month. Since my father passed away, I have been trying to support a family of four with that income.
We live in a rented house and don’t own a car. My earnings have to cover rent, food, bills, and our everyday needs. Keeping our household going is already difficult. Now my mother is severely ill, and I cannot afford the treatment she needs.
It is difficult to put into words what it feels like to work, bring home everything you earn, and still not have enough to help your mother. I want to be able to tell her that I can take care of this. The hardest part is knowing that, on my own, I can’t.
Losing my father was heartbreaking. Seeing my mother ill and being unable to pay for her care has left me feeling helpless. That is why I am asking for support.
I am raising PKR. 1 million for her treatment and medical expenses. Any contribution, however small, would help us move closer to getting her the care she needs. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this appeal.
Thank you for reading our story and for any kindness you can offer my family.
