Children born with unclear or ambiguous gender are innocent souls.
Allah creates every child with a destiny — and the Holy Qur’an reminds us:
“We created all things in pairs.”
Nowhere in the Qur’an is “transgender, hijra, or khwaja sira” mentioned as a separate creation. These children are simply born with medical(defects) conditions that require treatment — not judgment, shame, or rejection.
Even when their gender is not clear at birth, these children are not a different creation — they are innocent souls who need compassion and medical care. Through proper evaluation and 2–3 corrective surgeries, their gender becomes medically and scientifically clear.
At Birth Defects Foundation, every child goes through a step-by-step diagnostic process followed by two to three life-changing surgeries so their natural gender (male or female) can be clarified.
We do not “change” gender — we simply correct what was unclear at birth.
In private hospitals, this treatment costs over PKR 300,000.
But we request only PKR ,250,000 per surgery as a donation — and even a single rupee, a single penny, or any amount you can contribute becomes a part of a child’s journey toward a clear identity and a dignified life.
